Lake Victoria is the second biggest fresh water lake in the world, and the largest in Africa. Bordered by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, around 30 million people are dependent on the lake for food, water, and economic empowerment. The lake is the source of the Nile River, and was one of the last physical features in Africa to be discovered by European explorers.

The fastest route to the Mara region is via Kenya. After arriving at Nairobi airport in Kenya, you would travel by 4 wheel-drive into Tanzania. As part of this journey you would travel through the Kenyan mountains, and along the Rift valley. The views along this route are spectacular.
