Medical trip: 2 weeks in Musoma

Core activity: Rural clinic treatment provision and health education subject to current registration and approved by the DMO in Tanzania
Dates: 12th – 26th July 2012
Description: This trip is designed for those already involved in healthcare provision or those interested in studying in the field e.g. gap year before medical school. On this trip you will have opportunities to integrate with the local villages, provide health education, and provide diagnoses and treatment through rural style clinics. The intention is to set up a long term partnership with the local healthcare providers so sustainable treatment and funding can be provided to those who live outside the main towns in the area. Suggested fields of applicants: doctors, nurses, dentists, dental nurses, physiotherapists
Costs
£650 for working health professionals; medical students are eligible to a £100 discount
Volunteer will also have the opportunity to safari in the Serengeti for 2 days during their trip. This includes an over night stay in a lodge by the Serengeti gate, safari, lunch and swim at the five star Serena hotel
*All costs exclude international flights, visas, malarial tablets and injections. All in country costs are covered from arrival in Kenya/ Tanzania to departure from Nairobi airport.
